Jerk Venom – an effective pike lure

Jerk Venom is a typical glider – a hard lure that darts sideways irregularly. Its characteristic movements – sharp changes from left to right and striking belly rolls – very often prove a reliable trigger when a pike only follows the lure without committing to an attack. That is precisely when Venom can provoke the predator into striking.

Venom’s action and retrieve

Jerk Venom is a slow-sinking lure, giving the angler considerable control over its action and allowing precise retrieves at different depths. Its design helps it avoid obstacles very well, so it is also suitable for more challenging waters with submerged snags or vegetation.

  • A stronger pull of the rod produces a longer, smoother sideways glide, making the lure slide through the water and imitate a fleeing fish.

  • Short, rhythmic twitches give it the classic, irregular left–right action, long regarded as the most effective way to work pike jerkbaits.

This combination lets you adapt the retrieve to fish activity, from an aggressive, wide slalom to calmer, more natural baitfish movements.

Sizes and hooks

Venom is available in three sizes:

  • 12 cm – ideal for heavily fished waters and smaller predators,

  • 15 cm – the most popular model, combining versatility and effectiveness,

  • 20 cm – a substantial lure for anglers targeting record pike, requiring heavier tackle.

Each model is fitted with BKK treble hooks, renowned for their sharpness and strength, ensuring a firm hookset even during very dynamic attacks.

Why choose Jerk Venom?

Combining realistic action, a slow sink and bold colours, Jerk Venom is one of the most effective pike lures. It is a jerkbait for both experienced lure anglers and those beginning their pursuit of large predators.
